New and improved

Well, well, well. The wooden spoons gang is ready for anything it appears. Now we're ready to start posting from home...so this will be promising for y'all. As lent is approaching, I also wanted to take a moment to let you know what I'm giving up this year.

Beef and pork...wow, I can feel my stomach thanking me already...to celebrate (er...prepare) I made a breakfast casserole tonight which included lots of sausage...we'll have to eat it all tonight and tomorrow so I don't break my lenten promise.

That's all for now...30 % less fat, and medically proven to regrow hair, in accordance with the prophecy.

Whoa...way too much caffeine

As I was drinking down my third cup of coffee in two hours, many thoughts came into my head; no seriously, there were literally a thousand thoughts running through my head. Here are some, in no particular order (as they weren't in any order at all in my head):

"do I smell like coffee?"

"what time is it in Abu Dhabi?"

"which club should I use with 176 yards to the pin and a north/northwest crosswind playing out of the rough?"

"I think that Paul Simon is slightly crazy...did you hear Kodachrome?"

"dodgeball should be a professional sport"

"I like what my coworker is doing with that flame graphic"

"when is it time to switch the shower curtain?"

"I hope my new glasses come in sometime soon!"

"We're getting internet at the house...holy blogging batman"

"I should be thinking about this game for the conference"

Anyway, I hope that you aren't too scared by that look into my head this morning...it's sort of like one of my favorite movies, Being John Malkovich

That is all for now...have a great Friday!

Conspiracy Anyone?

So...I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but I couldn't pass this one up. I was talking with one of my coworkers, and we developed this story:

the hospitals are tied in with the cell phone companies? By George! Just think…cell phone companies develop a product that “may cause cancer” sending lots of people running to call their doctors for a check-up and when they try to make an appointment, random lines are “down” and numbers are unavailable. So the customer has to call around and wait on hold, thus running up minutes!

Ok...so here's your task...add to the story!

Cold

I'm not complaining about how cold it is, because that is so me two years ago. Instead, I'm going to tell you about what things you can do to have fun, even if you don't like to talk of warm things and cold things...you know who you are.

Ok...so there's snow, which means you can:
  1. put food out in it to save space in your refrigerator
  2. pack some into your lunch box if you forget to make ice
  3. pour some flavored syrup or creamer over it to make ice cream
  4. pretend it's cocaine and walk around expounding the "street value" of your yard (thanks to Better Off Dead)

We can also take a look at the number of people who forget that it snows every winter here in Ohio...maybe not always on the same day, or even week, but that doesn't take away from the instantaneous fright/feeling of invincibility that some get when it snows for the first time in a week...Like they've never seen it, but they can laugh it off as well and still drive badly. See, it all goes back to my post about traffic referees!!! I think it's time to revisit this idea...more to come. That is all for now.
Thank You

What is it about January?

Some folks like to say that "January is one of those months...", which sounds theoretically solid, but doesn't quite grab me intellectually. If you have any suggestions for filling in the blank, let me know.

Also, we were talking about words that shouldn't (but were) combined together to create new, exciting words...Here's a list: (and in parantheses the real words)

1. Infotainment (Information, entertainment)
2. Eduneering (Education, Engineering)
3. Knowledge Half Life (it's not a combination, but hideous all the same)
4. helpspiffyful (a rare breed, this one contains three words: Helpful, Spiffy, Playful)
5. Ginoment (ginormous compliment)

That is all for now, but if you have any to add, please comment!

Breakfast potatoes: A Quorum if you will

I'm taking an informal poll on breakfast potato preferences...Here are the choices:

1. McDonald's hashbrown disc-like thingy
2. Burger King's potato nugget whatsits
3. your own:______________
4. none of the above

My personal preference lies with the McDonald's hashbrown disc-like thingy. It is true road food in that you can eat it with one hand and still drive your car. Just don't try eating it right when you pick it up, as it can tend to be extremely hot...That is all for now, but please comment!!

Holy Cow

Ok...I usually reserve this space for things I don't like. However, I totally have to gush Mac-y for a second.

Have you seen the new MacBook Air? It's so totally awesome...I want one. That's all for now.
