Spring notes

Looking outside my window today...I see green buds on the tree. I also see the tree being blown about by the wind that announces the coming of a storm. There is a faint musty smell outside...not uncommon in this time of year. Stuff has been suppressed by the snow and frozen ground for a season, and now it is time to wake. I look to my right and my wife is lying expression on her face, which means she's not dreaming now...She smiles, frowns, moves her hands sometimes, that's when she's dreaming.

I'm glad to be back home, from a long week at work. This Saturday morning routine is what I have been needing for some time. I'll just cozy up to the idea, and enjoy some peace and quiet. Good morning to all.
Thank you.

The Time that Land Forgot

We were out to dinner last night after enjoying some local comedy from an improv troupe in the area. There was a guy out with us who made a reference to this location down in South Carolina. Now, I think he was trying to say the Land that Time Forgot, but every time he said it, it came out as the Time that Land Forgot...

So that got me could Time forget Land, and what would that look/feel like. Here's what I came up with:

1. a historical period of time, just floating around: say you're driving your car around, and noticed all of a sudden that you're in the Middle Ages. No time travel, but its just the middle ages right where your car is.

Ok next one...

2. an undiscovered historical period: what about this...I'm out on errands, trying to get home. After I turn off the freeway, I suddenly run into Napoleon's army. They were tromping around in Ohio, planning an invasion but didn't know that it was 2008. Careful to not upset the space/time continuum, I decided to keep my references to a bare minimum, and addressed myself to the commanding officer only. Since he only knew french, and I only know a few words of french, we simply stared across the table at each other.

I'm out of ideas at the moment, so I'll revisit this post at another time...have a good day.

I am still here!

Sorry all but I only have access to the internet two times a week when I am tutoring. Needless to say-I can't post much. Something that Jeff and I were wondering was how you all felt about last weeks "The Office" episode. After all that wait-that's what we get-the most depressing episode. Funny, but I have never felt worse for Michael. Sad life.

Big question for the moment: What is worse? Having never gotten married and never dealing with heartache or loving someone with the risk of or actually experiencing heartache? I would like to hear your thoughts. I am wrestling that now. Oddly enough-I have been wondering about that more since that sad Office episode. How much do you put up with for love?

Maybe it's good I don't post much if this what I come up with! :)

Can you hear me?

I was mulling around trying to think of my next wooden spoon recipient (upcoming) but in the meantime, I had this thought enter my head and take up residence right next to my right eye...

Whose celebrity voice would you like to have come out of your mouth when you opened it to talk? Think about it, then leave me a comment. Remember, it would have to be anytime you spoke...and once you've picked your celebrity, you have to stick with it.

I decided that I would like Andy Griffith's voice come out of my head when I talked. Now tell me yours.

My wife and I ran a 5k today in Akron, for the Canal Park Home Run Trot. It was a race to raise money and awareness for Juvenile Diabetes research. We both finished, and my wife improved on her last time. She ran in 36 minutes!!! This was my first 5k, and I finished in 40 minutes!!! Just wanted to share the news!! Talk to you later on...
